Saturday, we spent the day out in the world with our son, so it was a good time to test the iPhone 16 Pro Max cameras and see what's changed.

The iPhone 16 Pro Max has the largest iPhone display thus far — now grown to 6.9 inches, thanks to its super-thin bezels. It has the rather awkward resolution of 1320 x 2868 pixels to achieve the sharp 460 pixels per inch. And it's still an OLED panel with a 1-120 Hz refresh rate, and 2,000 nit peak brightness.

The first iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max preorders are now live. However, there's some bad news to report. iPhone 16 Pro delays are pushing shipping times for the Pro and Pro Max models to as late as October 15. So if you want one of Apple's new premium phones, I wouldn't hesitate to make that preorder.

Even though the iPhone 16 doesn't a telephoto sensor, Apple discovered a way to somewhat compensate for this, so much so that you can reportedly get high-quality zoomed-in photos by up to 2X. Not as appealing as the 5X optical sensor on the iPhone 16 Pro models, but it'll do.

Since they're arguably the two most popular phones around, this iPhone 16 Pro Max vs. Galaxy S24 Ultra face-off will determine for sure what's the better phone.
