Former Miami Marlins general manager Michael Hill was promoted to Major League Baseball’s senior vice president of on-field operations and workforce development on Tuesday and April Brown to senior vice president of social responsibility and diversity.

Major League Baseball on Tuesday announced April Brown has been elevated to Senior Vice President of Social Responsibility & Diversity. In this expanded role, Brown will assume responsibility for overseeing diversity-focused areas of the Office of the Commissioner while continuing her leadership of all social responsibility and community relations functions.

Major League baseball has promoted Michael Hill and April Brown to fill areas of supervision that had been under Billy Bean, senior vice president for diversity, equity and inclusion until his death in August.
