A purported video of a submerged garden on the premises of the ivory-white marble mausoleum was doing the rounds on social media since Thursday after heavy rains.

Rajkumar Patel, the superintending chief of the, Agra circle, confirmed the leakage in the Taj Mahal's main dome. He told the news agency that it was caused by seepage but assured that no damage has occurred.

Agra's historical monuments, including the Taj Mahal, have been significantly damaged by continuous rain over 48 hours. The Archaeological Survey of India is investigating water seepage from the main dome and flooding in nearby gardens.

Following the reports of water leakage, a probe began, however, no damage has been found on the main dome even as the garden adjacent to the Taj Mahal remains submerged.
